Winners have been announced for the
2007 Governor’s Conservation Achievement Awards.
The awards are the highest natural resource honors in
the state, presented annually by the North Carolina Wildlife
Federation and the Governor’s office to recognize
those who have exhibited an unwavering commitment to conservation.
“By recognizing, publicizing and honoring these
conservation leaders – young and old, professional
and volunteer – the North Carolina Wildlife Federation
hopes to inspire everyone to take a more active role in
protecting the natural resources of our state,”
said T. Edwards Nickens, chairman of the Governor’s
Conservation Achievement Awards
Recipients receive a coveted statuette and certificate
at the gala Awards Banquet held in late February.
