Hunters and Anglers Demand Climate Action!

Press Conference Announces Delivery of Letter to Congress
Signed by 677 Hunting and Fishing Organizations

Today, I stood in the same room with Sen. John Warner (R-VA), Sen. Robert Casey (D-PA), noted sportsmen Simon Roosevelt and David Crockett and dozens of other of my fellow hunters and anglers to stand up for sportsmen and women across America concerned about climate change.

Together, we announced the delivery of a letter to Congress bearing the signatures of nearly 700 hunting and fishing organizations representing all 50 states.

This letter calls on Congress to pass comprehensive legislation that will reduce America's global warming pollution by 80% by mid-century. It also calls for dedicated funding for natural resource conservation that is needed to help wildlife adapt to a changing climate.

The press conference was followed by meetings between the visiting hunters and anglers and their Members of Congress to urge support for global warming legislation--particularly the Climate Security Act in the Senate. This legislation will cut global warming emissions and also provide funding for wildlife.

You can take part in this lobby day too! Please contact your senators and urge them to support the Climate Security Act today.

Strong climate legislation is a critical first step toward protecting our sporting lifestyle from the dangerous consequences of global warming. Let your senators know that their vote for the Climate Security Act is absolutely crucial.
