Forest
or field, public or private, high country or cypress-ringed swamp – land is
where conservation starts. Every acre matters, which is why the NC Wildlife
Federation’s work on behalf of land stewardship encompasses projects as diverse
as backyard habitat and landscape-scale planning.
The
common bond of all living creatures poses uncommonly complex challenges. North
Carolina’s blessings of water – mountain streams, Piedmont reservoirs, rivers,
swamps, wetlands, and Atlantic shore – demands inspired, insightful
conservation planning and advocacy.
The
future for wildlife begins with sound science and public policy free from undue
influence. For more than half a century the NC Wildlife Federation has worked
to ensure that the state’s vibrant wildlife communities are managed sensibly
and sustainably.
Access
to wild places and opportunities to enjoy them is an abiding interest of the NC
Wildlife Federation. From fishing to birdwatching, hunting to paddle sports,
the Federation works on behalf of all North Carolinians to find themselves in
places where wildlife thrives.
