Island Habitat Program
Sponsored by the NCWF and Duke Power the Island Habitat program is being modeled in the rapidly developing Catawba River basin area with intentions of being spread throughout the Tar Heel State. The goal is simply to enhance island habitats for wildlife by cleaning them of refuse and by erecting nesting boxes.

Fur, Fish & Game Rendezvous
Open to the first 85 registrants, the Fur, Fish ‘N Game Rendezvous Camp is designed to give participants a better understanding of our natural resources and how we interact with them.

Scholarships

Governors Conservation Achievement Awards
Each year the North Carolina Wildlife Federation presents the prestigious Governor’s Conservation Achievement Awards Program, an effort to honor those individuals, governmental bodies, associations and others who have exhibited an unwavering commitment to conservation in North Carolina. These are the highest honors given in the state.

McClamroch Luncheon
An annual event sponsored by the NCWFEEF at which the NCWRC’s enforcement officers awards are given, and Endowment Fund scholarship winners are honored. Wildlife officers are nominated by their peers based on character, ethics, and performance over the past year. The scholarship winners were selected by the Endowment Fund Board members.

Hunters for the Hungry
The Federation is an original supporter of this non-profit organization dedicated to providing high quality venison to people in need of food. Wildlife Wire
Wildlife Wire is an electronic communications tool available to NCWF members and affiliates. Periodic wildlife news and issues will keep wildlife enthusiasts updated throughout the year. Action Alert letter campaigns will consist of brief background information on a specific issue along with elected officials to be targeted.

Barkalow Lecture Series
The essence of the Dr. Fred S. and Mrs. Joan M. Barkalow Lecture, held each spring at North Carolina State University is to enhance students’ learning experiences in biology, wildlife or natural resources management, or other conservation related fields.

National Wildlife Week
Started in 1938, is an effort to preserve wildlife and wildlife habitat by educating students, families, and adults through fun and informative hands-on activities.

CleanCast
CleanCast is a one-day program that combines a fishing opportunity with an introduction to the importance of water quality and basic water monitoring techniques.
