A Guide to the Snakes of North Carolina

Dr. Michael Dorcas, winner of NCWF’s “ Environmental Educator of the Year” award in the 2003 Governor’s Conservation Achievement Awards programs, is the author of a new book, A Guide to the Snakes of North Carolina. This book provides detailed, easy-to-read descriptions of all 37 species of North Carolina’s snakes. Loaded with color photographs of all snake species in the state, it also includes sections on Frequently Asked Questions, snakebite, and conservation. Designed to foster the public’s appreciation of snakes as fascinating and valuable parts of our natural heritage worthy of conservation. A Guide to the Snakes of North Carolina is sponsored by a wide range of organizations interested in the conservation of our North Carolina natural heritage, including the North Carolina Wildlife Federation.
